5 Adaptogen-Spiked Smoothies To Supercharge Your Day

It’s no secret that I love smoothies! They’re pretty much my go-to weekday breakfast as someone that needs to fuel up fast prior to teaching/practicing yoga, heading to the office or just heading out and about. I typically am not hungry until about 10am, but know that if I don’t get in a solid breakfast when I’m able, I’ll become a hangry monster and end up reaching for the closest sugary snack!

It’s also no secret that I’m a big fan of adaptogens and they’re myriad of benefits. In fact, I wrote a whole blog post on them which you can find here so what better way to combat hunger AND any stress, skin or other concern.

Whilst I love a good green juice, my preference is a smoothie as I believe that if we were made to juice our fruit and veg, we wouldn’t have teeth! Smoothies are a quick, nutritious, easy way to pack a heck of a lot of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and goodness in one delish glassful.

Here are 5 of my favourites on rotation.

Always try to get organic fruit and vegetables where possible, especially with the ones where you eat the skin or have a thin skin! You can get away with non-organic bananas etc as they have a thicker skin. But definitely check out your local farmers market or websites like Farmdrop (p.s. I saw a 20% off code on the tube for your first order ‘BETTER’) have a great selection of organic produce. I also switch out banana occasionally for frozen zucchini or cauliflower to keep the smoothie frozen and creamy yumminess without the added natural sugars.

Fertility Boosting Choco-Banana

1/2 teaspoon maca powder

1/2 teaspoon shatavari powder

1 tablespoon cacao

1/2 frozen banana

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon each of seeds from seed cycle. Read all about that here

1 scoop Vega Essentials Vanilla powder or any other plant-based protein powder

1 cup oat milk, almond milk or other non-dairy milk

1 cube frozen spinach

1 medjool date to sweeten if needed, though I find the Vega powder sweet enough!

1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (just peanuts!)

1/2 frozen banana or frozen zucchini (zucchini is a great alternative to make it creamy!)

1 cup oat milk, almond milk or other non-dairy milk

1 teaspoon Manuka honey

1 tablespoon marine collagen (I use this one or this one)

1 cup frozen berries

1 scoop Vega Essentials Vanilla powder or any other plant-based protein powder

1/2 teaspoon cordyceps

1/2 teaspoon pearl powder

1 cup coconut water
